A Lovely Surprise in the Post
Today brought a wonderful surprise.
Among the usual post was a letter that immediately caught my attention. When I opened it, I was delighted to discover that it was a Certificate of Appreciation from This Is Us. I must admit, it brought a huge smile to my face.
A few months ago, I was contacted and asked whether I would be willing to donate something towards a raffle for their Gala Evening fundraiser. At the time, I hadn't heard of This Is Us, so I decided to do a little research before responding.
What I discovered immediately captured my heart.
This Is Us supports people with Special Educational Needs through their shared love of dance, creating opportunities for connection, confidence, friendship and joy. Anyone who knows me will understand why this resonated so deeply with me. Supporting people with SEN is a cause that is very close to my heart, and seeing the positive impact that dance can have on wellbeing and self-expression made it impossible to say no.
I was delighted to donate to help support their fundraising efforts.
Receiving this certificate today reminded me that even small acts of kindness can contribute to something much bigger. It sounds as though the Gala Evening was a wonderful event, and I'm so pleased that I was able to play a small part in helping raise funds for such an inspiring organisation.
To everyone involved with This Is Us, thank you for the thoughtful certificate and, more importantly, for the incredible work you do. It was an honour to support you, and I look forward to following your journey in the future.
Sometimes the most meaningful surprises arrive in the simplest of envelopes.
