From Lounge to Sanctuary - The Transformation of My Treatment Room

If you’d told me a year ago that I’d be spray-painting fake coals on my gas fire to make them look more realistic, I might have laughed. And yet—here I am, elbow-deep in DIY, transforming my lounge into a cozy, welcoming treatment room for Tonbridge Reflexology. And I couldn’t be more excited.

This space has been the heart of our home: where stories are shared, tea is poured, and life unfolds. Now, it’s evolving into something new—a sanctuary for healing, reflection, and care. It’s a very personal process, blending my clinical background with my love of comfort and connection. Every detail matters.
Comfort Meets Care
My goal is simple: to create a space where clients feel instantly at ease. That means soft lighting, warm textures, and thoughtful touches that invite relaxation.
The reflexology chair has found its perfect spot, nestled between the window and the fireplace. I’ve added blinds and a room divider to soften the view and create a sense of privacy. And yes, the gas fire has had a makeover—because even the smallest details deserve love. Spray-painting those faux coals was oddly satisfying, and they now look far more convincing (and cozy!).

The Joy of the Unexpected
What’s surprised me most is how creative this process has been. I’ve found myself experimenting with textures, repurposing furniture, and even dabbling in a bit of interior styling. It’s reminded me that healing isn’t just about technique—it’s about environment, intention, and the feeling you get when you walk into a space that’s been lovingly prepared just for you.
A Space That Reflects My Ethos
As a reflexologist and mental health nurse, I know how powerful a safe, nurturing environment can be. This room is an extension of that ethos—a place where science meets soul, and where every client is met with warmth, professionalism, and care.
And who knows—maybe in a year or so, this journey will lead to a dedicated garden cabin or clinic space. A little haven tucked away in the garden, purpose-built for peace and healing. But for now, I’m pouring my heart into this transformation, one cozy corner at a time.
I can’t wait to welcome you in.
